Vintage 1940s wide brim - Gem。This is a very elegant wide brim tilt hat from the 1940s\'. The round crown is surrounded by a wide brim which is upturned at the front and back. There are some gorgeous velvety fabric flowers in salmon color on top of the crown, plus green leaves. There is an elastic band attached to the inside of the hat to keep it in place. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. 30s Fashion certainly seemed fussier than the 1920s with its relentless ornaments of bows, trims and frills.
