This is labeled reproduction Balmain however this is a licensed copy. They sold the design to the USA and then hats were made here. This even goes back to the 1930s with Chanel hats and clothing which are labeled \"Adaptation Chanel\". The reason for this is that everything was made to order and there was no ready to wear. They decided to sell the designs overseas so they could reach a broader market.
