It consists of a rounded hard structure covered in black, draped velvet on the top, and a silky black fabric on the bottom. This style was referred to as a \"mushroom\" hat. At the back of this stunning hat there is a small velvet bow, plus yellow and small black feathers that resemble flowers. There is also an inside cap to hold the hat in place. Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves. Post war 1940’s and 1950’s saw many women choosing not to wear hats on a regular basis.
